From kindergarten-bound five-year-olds to fully matured humans dealing with stressful times, everyone can benefit from having a worry stone. A worry stone is something you can slip into your pocket to relieve some anxiety and instill a sense of calm. Just rubbing your thumb along its surface is soothing. You can find beautifully smooth stones in streams, but really any stone will do, as long as it speaks to you. Hunting for a worry stone in itself is a great activity – especially if you bring your family along to join in the hunt.
If you have small children at home, our story The Worry Stone is a great way of introducing the activity. Read it here 🙂 Or, watch Katie do a read-aloud of the story here. Send a photo of your worry stone to [email protected] and we will feature it in a future blog!
