It seems like Frederick has appeared on a lot of “Best Places” lists over the past few years. Recently, it made Movoto’s list of the 10 Best Counties in America, and if you live here or have ever visited, you certainly know why. Frederick county is a perfect blend of small town atmosphere with big city amenities. The people here are second to none and the spirit of community can be felt from one corner of this county to the next. We are proud to be part of the culture and community in Frederick, and count ourselves quite lucky to call this fantastic county home.
One of the things that fosters the strong sense of community found in Frederick county are small town events like our upcoming Barn Dance (Friday, September 26). Being able to come out to an authentic Homestead Barn, listen to music and dance with your friends and neighbors – that pretty much sums up what sets Frederick apart from the rest. A crisp evening spent in a barn decked out in mums and fall finery – this is what Frederick is all about!
Tickets for the Barn Dance are on sale now. The night will begin at 7:30 and end at 10:30. Hot cider and light snacks will be provided, and you are welcome to BYOB. If you purchase your ticket in advance, the cost is $20. But don’t worry, tickets will still be available at the door; however, the cost will increase to $25. Proceeds from the Barn Dance will be used to help provide funding for non-profit organizations’ use of the ThorpeWood Lodge, property and Equine Assisted Learning program. You can order your advance tickets by sending a check made payable to the Merle Thorpe Charitable Trust (MTCT) and mailing it to ThorpeWood, 12805-A Mink Farm Road, Thurmont, MD 21788.
Looking forward to seeing you all there!
