Earth Day Events at ThorpeWood

Happy Earth Day to all friends of ThorpeWood! We are so delighted to be running a few Earth Day events this year! From 7-9am, we will be heading out on a Forest Therapy Walk. Forest Therapy is a mindful walk in nature, led by me, a certified forest therapy guide. The walk is slow and easygoing – think strolling along, occasionally stopping, being still often. Through a sensory awakening meditation and guided invitations, participants are called to engage deeply with the forest, tune into their senses, and become fully present. This activity is best for teens and adults, but all ages are welcome.

At 9am, we will be donning gloves and grabbing trash bags for a big Road Cleanup! ThorpeWood is the official adopter of Catoctin Hollow Road. We will be tackling from Route 15 to the intersection at Mink Farm Road. If we have enough volunteers, we will also be collecting trash along Mink Farm Road AND in the stream that borders Catoctin Hollow Road. And if you stay til the end…we often go for a little swim in the creek and eat sweet treats when we get back to the farm!

We hope to see you on Saturday! If you plan to attend either or both events, please sign up using the links provided:
