In this second week of August…
August 12: Our community liaison, Clare, organized a second Mushroom Walk and Talk with fungi expert John Beutler. The event filled up immediately and was a great success overall. We’ve been so delighted to share our farm with the public during our monthly community event series!
August 14 and 17: We’ve been delighted to host volunteers at the farm this summer. This week, we had three volunteers (plus some of us ThorpeWood staff members) hard at work in the garden. It was such a pleasure to come together in this special place on the hilltop.
August 15: We had our final visit with our friends at Boys and Girls Club. It was a rewarding experience to have this kind of summer-long relationship with these youth. As our summer programs come to an end and the kids return to school, we look forward to our upcoming new season of programming!
