A few updates and reminders for you, friends.
Our Barn Dance is this Friday, October 11th. Now, we are going to be honest with you all – ticket sales have not been as we had hoped, and we are seriously considering canceling the event. Please help us out here and buy some tickets to this community event. If the Barn Dance is not your thing, please share it with friends and family who you feel might be interested. As a matter of fact, do us a huge favor and share this blog post on your Facebook wall. Who knows who you might reach?
Why is this event so important to us? Well, it is a fundraiser for us, so that we can continue to offer and open up ThorpeWood to area nonprofits that benefit the youth of our community. Groups such as the Frederick County YMCA, Frederick County Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and the Frederick County United Way. We welcome these groups – and the kids they serve – to come up to ThorpeWood and we give them free use of our property and programs. Yes, free use! But, friends – the money to support that has to come from somewhere, and that is where you come in.
Buy some tickets to our Barn Dance on October 11. The tickets – $20 per person for adults/$10 per person for kids 15 and under – get you a fantastic evening with music by the Speakeasy Boys, a caller to call the dances, and light snacks and hot cider. The dance will be held in our Bank Barn, which will be totally decked out in its autumnal finery. Doesn’t that sound like a great fundraising event? And besides, it really is a ton of fun! We had a great crowd last year, and a great time was had by all!
So, please help us out friends! Buy tickets and encourage your friends and family to do the same! We need you!
