ThorpeWood’s roof insulation incorporates the use of “stress skins.” These are cam-locked Murus polyurethane (PUR) panels, structural sandwiches of dense foam between two layers of pressboard. The polyurethane foam is safe to humans and the environment. It is 100% organic and does not contain formaldehyde or CFCs. The panels act as a moisture barrier and virtually eliminate energy-robbing air infiltration that creates drafts and uneven room temperatures. In addition to excellent insulating properties, PUR panels provide ThorpeWood with a uniform continuity of structure, as well as a virtually seamless interior and exterior substrate.
