Weddings, Weddings, Weddings

While Summer has traditionally held the spot as top wedding season, around here, that honor goes to the Fall. With the passing of Labor Day weekend (the widely considered end of Summer) Mountain Memories at ThorpeWood’s busiest season begins. We host more weddings during the three months of September, October and November than any other three month period during the year.

Spend some time on our gorgeous grounds during the Fall and this will come as no surprise. It is quite simply spectacular to be in the Catoctin Mountains during the Fall. The crisp evenings, colorful foliage, lush autumnal plants and flowers – Fall is simply not to be missed on the mountain. And so, it stands to reason that brides and grooms would naturally flock to have on of the most special days of their lives in such perfect seasonal splendor!

Hosting each of these weddings (and countless other events – birthdays, anniversaries, corporate functions) requires a lot of coordination. Julie and Lexie at Mountain Memories at ThorpeWood are dedicated to providing each couple with the wedding of their dreams. Sometimes that requires a lot of logistical wrangling – working with photographers, caterers, bakers, limo drivers, and hotels just to name a few. From time to time Mountain Memories at ThorpeWood puts out the call for a few extra hands on deck. If you think that you would be interested in being a part of our support staff when needed, send your contact information to Julie at jparalaman@thorpewood.org, and we will be sure to keep you mind.

In the meantime, we will continue to bask in the flurry of weddings this season brings to the mountain. What a perfect time of year to say, “I do.”
