The Night Before the Open House

‘Twas the night before the Open House, and all through ThorpeWood’s Lodge,Santa

Staff and volunteers were scurrying to make merriment out of a hodge podge.

The tree was all decorated in lights that were twinkling,

And Santa’s 4-6 pm approach was announced by bells that were jingling!

“Come downstairs,” Santa will beckon, “and tell me your wish,”

Young and old can decorate, un- and re-decorate a tree with a swish.

Cookies will be placed on plates by the bunch,

And everyone will be excited they left room by eating sparingly at lunch.TWCookie

Musical notes will fill the air with joyous noise,

And a sing-a-long was prepared to be enjoyed by girls and boys.

Contests had been planned – guess the number of lights, and ornament finds,

Fantastic prizes were at stake,  for sharp, inquisitive minds!

This Open House – a shame it happens but once a year,

Is a treat we can count on to bring in the holidays with great cheer!

tree santa trainCan’t wait to see you all tomorrow, December 6 from 3 pm to 8 pm at the ThorpeWood Lodge for a free Holiday Open House community event.  Remember that Santa will be here from 4 pm to 6 pm, so plan accordingly.  And those lines about the contests: those were no joke!  If you can guess the number of lights, you will win a night in the Little Pond Cottage!  A scavenger hunt of our Lodge tree for special ornaments will also offer prizes.  And bring some of your best cookies to share.   It promises to be simply wonderful!!
