18th Annual Holiday Open House

Below is some updated information for our 18th Annual Holiday Open House, this Saturday December 9th, from 3:00p – 8:00p!

We have finished decorating our North Carolina 15′ Fraser Fir Christmas tree! The tree is beautiful and certainly was a labor of love from staff and volunteers to decorate it! The lodge is getting spruced up, the fire is set, we’ve checked in with Santa Claus, so all we need is YOU!!!

We will again have a contest to guess how many lights are on our tree! The winner will receive an overnight at our Little Pond Cottage!

Below is a line up of the musicians who will be sharing their talents with us this year at our Open House. Thanks to Todd Walker for this great group of talented, local musicians…some new, some returning:
3pm – David Selby & Friends
4pm – Melissa Main & Friends
5pm – Alicia & Mike Nunez
6pm – Peter Roebuch
7pm – Todd Walker

We will again be providing a craft for all children in our Tree Room, centered around the story: Twas the Night Before Christmas! Thank you Vicki Gross….our master story teller and craft designer!!

Santa will be visiting throughout the evening to spend time
with the kids…big and small!

We ask that everyone bring not more than 2 dozen cookies to share.

The ThorpeWood ornament, designed and made by local potter, Susan Hanson http://www.catoctinpottery.com/ will be on sale for $20. We hope you’ll take a little of ThorpeWood home with you.

Please share this post with family and friends and plan to join us for this wonderful afternoon on Catoctin Mountain.

We want to thank the Girls Scouts from two local troops (Troop 2330- Melissa Curtis-Cherry/Mt. Airy and Trop 81059-Amy Savitt/Myersville) who will be greeting and helping with the display of wonderful cookie donations, and Paul Kayzak and the members of the Westminister Venturing Crew who will be assisting with directions and parking outside! We will also have additional volunteers assisting throughout the event!

We can not wait to see you on Saturday!!!!
