Welcome to ThorpeWood
ThorpeWood is a 155-acre mountain retreat located in the Catoctin Mountains near Thurmont, MD. Our beautiful setting of forests, meadows, an arboretum, wetlands, and native trout streams provides a tranquil location for our primary mission – providing education and personal development programs for at-risk youth - as well as plentiful space outdoors and in our “green construction” timber frame lodge for corporate events and weddings during all seasons, frequent community gatherings, and learning and volunteer opportunities for children and adults.

ThorpeWood is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Support for our education programs is provided by a combination of resources including foundation grants, donations by generous contributors, and revenues from event use of ThorpeWood’s facilities.
