Calling All Sponsors!

TW race shotThe ThorpeWood Trails 10K Run/5K Fun Run and Walk will be held on August 31st this year.  In this, our seventh year of this wonderful event, we are expecting the crowds to be even bigger than in the past.  We have managed to grow this event each year, and have welcomed participants from Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington, D.C.

In a sea of running/walking events in Frederick county, ours stands out.  Not only because it is one of just a few trail events, but because it supports a cause near and dear to so many people in our community and beyond.  All proceeds from this race benefit the youth programs of the Frederick County Y.M.C.A., and support the use of ThorpeWood by these youth programs.  That means children fishing, hiking, camping, participating in our Equine Assisted Learning program, just to name a few.  The direct impact to kids in our own community, truly encourage a great deal of support and participation.

We need help to make this happen.  An event of this size and scope requires a lot of work – t shirts need to be created and provided to participants; trophies are awarded; food and drink need to be made available to all of those who come out to support our cause; and door prizes donated by area businesses make the event exciting for those who have already crossed the finish line.  All of these necessary components help contribute to a great event – one that has people returning for year after year.

If you are an area business, or if you have a connection with an area business, please consider becoming a sponsor of our race.  You can download the sponsorship form by clicking here, or a business could always call us at 301-271-2823 to discuss sponsorship levels.  Your donation is tax deductible and so needed and welcome!  Please, consider joining with us to help make sure the proceeds from the race continue to bring more children into the natural wonder of ThorpeWood through the Frederick County Y.M.C.A.  Thanks so much!
